You know what I have loved most about blogging again thus far? I am loving myself more.
I know most people would say, “Lauren, you have to be pretty confident to do this.” For me confidence and self love don’t necessarily go hand in hand.
You can be strong enough to put yourself out there, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you aren’t beating yourself up along the way.
I hope that along the way someone is inspired to go after whatever brings them joy. I feel like we are so quick to both judge and mock. They’re not pretty enough, they’re not thin enough, they’re too thin, why do they do that? It’s so lame.
While no one is perfect and we may have moments of judgement and mockery, why do we care so much? At the end of the day as long as it isn’t harming anyone and isn’t illegal, let people live. Let them do what they want. Let them look how they way. Let them partake in activities they want.
I think the reason a lot of people don’t follow their true passion is for fear of ridicule. How sad is that? People don’t go after their truest desires because they are too concerned with the perception others will have of them?
The next time you are quick to throw shade, stop and think. Will belittling the way they look or the activities they pursue affect you? More than likely no. SO WHY DO YOU CARE? If it doesn’t effect you, keep on moving on with your day.
Everyone has insecurities but we should admire and celebrate those who persevere despite the possibility of rejection or failure.
If you are one of the individuals going after what you desire most, KEEP GOING. You are ahead of the pack my friend.
If you’re feeling down about your outward appearance, look yourself in the mirror and find one thing to compliment yourself on out loud.
Self reassurance is the one of the strongest tools we have at our finger tips. You can choose to tear yourself down, or build yourself up. I will continue to choose the latter.
That is all.
