How I Get My Blonde

May 3, 2018

Fair warning, it’s not an extremely talkative video but I do give you a sped up/shortened version of what  a typical hair appointment looks like for me. If you’re looking for something more specific or up close and personal, I am more than happy to capture at my next appointment.

For all my Tallahassee ladies, or those willing to travel, I HIGHLY recommend Brenna. Her skill speaks for itself but she is such a beautiful person inside and out. Don’t forget to follow Brenna @Beautybybrennab!

Alright onto the magic. Direct from the mouth of the hair guru herself:

We started with a full head babylight with 20 vol + Olaplex no. 1 (Olaplex drops your developer so it actually processes as a 10 volume). I don’t have the thickest hair, but I do have a lot of it. I hold most of the weight in the back of my head (I’ve been told by multiple stylists now). For the most part I have always had my stylist start my foils at the base of the back of my head.

After allllllllll of the baby lights (it took her almost two hours to foil my whole head!!!) I processed under heat until desired lift. I think all in all it was about 20 minutes give or take.

Brenna then clarified at the shampoo bowl, brushed through my hair and started the real magic.

Brenna placed a shadow root in a certain placements so it looks fresh + blended, hand painted smaller pieces around my hairline, and strategically placed two toner formulas to the ends. Give the toner some time to process, rinse, and apply Olaplex No. 2

For extra moisture, shine, and to ensure the cuticle is sealed, Brenna applied Biolage Acidic Milk Rinse.

Then end result was an ashy blonde with pops of buttery pieces.

I LOVE how it turned out. I had quite a bit of grow out so it was a huge change in terms of how prominent the hair line detailing turned out. I do try to go 12 weeks in between color appointments to give my hair plenty of time to recoup. I will still see Brenna in six weeks for a clean up of my ends.

Let me know if this post was helpful or if there is any more information you desire!

-xx, Lauren.
