LAURA MERCIER Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow

August 30, 2018

I love when Influenster sends me product. You typically know what you’re getting but sometimes you’re surprised at how much is in the box. In my latest box I received the new Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow. I also received the new Glow Brush for application, and a travel size of the original translucent setting powder.

To start, I’m obsessed with the brush. I love how it contours your face and gives a beautiful application.
I am not a huge fan of the original formula because I feel it leaves my skin a bit too dry. I have noticed my skin has changed since I last used it, so I may give it a go to see how it wears no.
Onto the main event. I will be honest (aren’t I always) that it is a good powder but it is not my favorite. My heart belongs to Lancome’s Absolue Powder in Peche. If you follow Jaclyn Hill then you know she raves about this product also. I have gotten a few people hooked on the Lancome. Trust me, spend the $60+…you need it.
But we’re here for Laura Mercier. If you don’t want to spend $60+ this is a great powder. I do think it sits better on a creamier or dewier formula. I tested on top of a liquid matte foundation and on top of a creamy stick foundation. I hated it on top of the matte. I felt you had to layer on the product to get a glow, and by that point I looked powdery. On top of my foundation stick it was beautiful, and my makeup lasted ALL DAY. When I use the Lancome on top of my foundation stick, it lasts most of the day but not all day.
If you love the original formula from Laura Mercier and have been wanting a glowy counterpart, this is your fix. I am also very proud that the company produced the product in a deeper shade for those with a darker complexion who want to sparkle and shine.
Don’t forget the Sephora VIB sale is still going on and you can snag the new powder for 20% off!!!!
What is your favorite setting powder?
-xx, Lauren.
